Counseling services for Adolescents and young adults in Colorado

Megan DuVall,

MS, LPC – Private Pay and Kaiser

My passion is helping people grow and learn through building strong and fulfilling relationships within their lives. I believe that relationships are an essential aspect of emotional well-being, so I strive to form collaborative bonds with my clients that focus on their values to identify what works best for them in their therapeutic journey.

I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a dual master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling in 2014. Since then, I have lived in several different states and gained valuable experiences, from working at a private school for students with learning differences in New Jersey, to working as both a middle school counselor in Colorado, and a therapist at a group private practice. Along the way, I have gained experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and executive functioning.

One thing you must know, I love animals and often incorporate my Australian Shepherd,Athena, into therapy sessions. Athena adds such a unique element to the therapeutic process, and it is so amazing to see the positive effect she has on my clients.

In my free time, I love spending time outdoors and traveling. When I am not in the office, I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, reading psychological thrillers, and hanging out with family and friends!

Adolescence and young adulthood offer unique opportunities for personal development and exploration. These incredible opportunities can also present challenges and turmoil as a person discovers who they are. My passion includes helping you navigate this journey by providing a safe, supportive, and positive environment to do so.

With over ten years of counseling experience in an educational setting, I am eager to work with clients through a person-centered, strengths-based approach. My experiences have offered me the opportunity to assist with anxiety, depression, trauma, personal transitions, self-esteem, relationships, and school issues, among many other concerns. Clients can come to me without fear of judgment for their thoughts, feelings, or beliefs as I enjoy working with all people.

In addition to traditional therapeutic approaches, I often incorporate my black lab, Griz, into sessions to provide comfort, companionship, and a source of unconditional love. I believe in the healing power of the human-animal bond and its incredible ability to support emotional well-being.

I alter my approach based on the needs of each person and will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your needs. Together, we can work through challenges and facilitate positive change.
